Rufus and Mr. Gibbs comes by Keyhouse to say goodbye to Bode and Kinsey. When entering the house, Rufus encounters the ghostly spirit of Bode. While Bode tries to warn Rufus of being discrete, he immediately starts attacking the possessed Bode. He is taken to McClellan Psychiatric Hospital, where he meets Erin Voss. He gets instructions from his toy on how to break out and escape.
Meanwhile, Dodge plans a trap.

- The page with Rufus and the social worker knocking on the door to Keyhouse is a callback to the first page of Locke & Key: Welcome to Lovecraft #1, where Al Grubb and Sam Lesser knocked on the door to the summer home. The panel layouts, character poses, and angles of images are all the same.
- When Rufus attacks Dodge, the two keys that fall out of Dodge's overalls are the Ghost Key and the Philosophoscope Key.
